Album "Following....." out June 1st!

MY BANJO

I knew from the first day that he was the one -
Displaying no fear, he shied not from my touch,
And so, fifteen years of affection and fun
Began with my Banjo - I loved him so much -

I dubbed him “Banjo” - so playful, that name,
And boy, did he live up to that frisky claim!
He’d hop on the table where I’d read, and start
To paw at my shoulder, while stealing my heart!

The games that we played? Pure, spontaneous joy -
As natural as laughter, or cool summer rain -
God gave me a treasure in my tabby boy -
The light of his memory in my heart remains -

He loved to hear music - when I’d play a song,
He’d jump up beside me, and purr right along -
I’ve loved every pet that I’ve had in years since,
But Banjo was special - of that, I’m convinced!

Blessed were those moments - like echoes, somehow,
They wisped from my grasp, and are gone from me now -
Wisped from my grasp -
Gone from me now -

I miss you, my Banjee-Buns - sweet Sugar-Puss -
A part of our family - surely, one of us -
I miss the soft rumble of your gentle purr -
Forever, my orange and white pouncin’, bouncin’ ball of fur -

All these years Springtime, that purr has been stilled,
And some would ask how could any sadness yet show,
But God knows my heart, and to overflow fills,
So I carry my Banjo, wherever I go -

Wherever I go, I carry my Banjo -
I carry my Banjo.....
